Christ's Lovingkindness Better than Life (Psalm 63:4)

Beloved Friends in Christ,

A lot has happened since the beginning of the year, when I last reported a little about my state of health.

I owe it to you to report again, but what I want to say most of all is that Christ's lovingkindness is better than life, and that he is the comfort of my heart when all earthly comforts fail.

I am very grateful for providential mercies, but where would we be without the sweet love of Christ himself?

I am feeling much better this week than any time for several weeks. My ascites has been partially drained and that has given great relief. After a period of mental confusion arising from this last stage of the cancer, I am having some respite and now feel in a 'wealthy place' (Psalm 66:12).

Thank you for your prayers. I value them tremendously. All the glory for all his mercies belongs to Christ alone.

With warmest thanks,
In the love of Christ,
Douglas

    Dear Douglas,

Oh, how we thank you for updating us! We have been so concerned for you. And there you are, safe in the arms of Jesus. We are so happy that you are feeling better. We continue to pray. And oh, isn't it sweet to lift one another up in prayer before our dear Lord Jesus, knowing that He hears our faintest whisper. May we continue to keep our eyes on Him and trust in his tender mercies. Love in Christ, Alan and Janet

  2. I don't know whether to say "Good to hear from you again" or not! Perhaps you would rather this earthly journey be over as I was beginning to think might have happened. Anyhow we are glad you are better than you have been and pray our Lord Jesus's Grace be constantly with you till He carries you Home. Our Karen has recently been diagnised with terminal brain cancer and is not "our Karen" anymore. BUT She has lost no sense of Christ's Presence and constantly says "Jesus is my comfort and my strenth" even tho' she has lost a lot of other brain power. And for Christ's carrying us all we are very thankful (although sad too, of course) Bruce joins in sending our love in Jesus. Murielle
