In the Heavenly Country Bright

There is a wonderful carol which speaks of our being led by the guiding star to Bethlehem, and goes on to speak of the heavenly country bright.

This is a delightful combination. May we be always be led into into both of these realities.

I do not want to speak further of these great truths, but simply to quote the hymn itself, as it spans  the two great and heavenly truths.

As with gladness men of old
Did the guiding star behold,
As with joy they hailed its light,
Leading onward, beaming bright -
So, most gracious Lord, may we
Evermore may be led to thee.

In the heavenly country bright
Need they no created light;
Thou its light, its joy, its crown,
Thou its light which goes not down;
There for ever may we sing
Alleluias to our King.

  1. Amen, Douglas!

    We sang that very hymn just last week in church.

    Thank you, dear brother,

  2. Beautiful. We are in the midst of an ice storm here; still have power in our area; most churches canceled services. I'm currently listening to Handel's Messiah. For ever and ever, Hallelujah.
